About the Role

Opportunity in a Big 4 firm.

Due to significant expansion following numerous high-profile client acquisitions, this firm seeks an experienced and motivated Corporate Tax Manager for the London office. This position presents the opportunity to engage with some of the most prominent and dynamic clients in the market, assisting them in navigating an increasingly complex tax landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Oversee the successful execution of complex compliance and reporting engagements, including associated consulting projects.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality service, with a focus on maintaining excellent client service standards.
  • Collaborate closely with other specialised tax teams.
  • Foster internal networks and relationships.
  • Facilitate the professional development of team members through effective supervision, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Lead and manage team initiatives, encompassing all aspects of successful team leadership.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Extensive experience in Corporate Tax, either within a practice or an in-house tax environment.
  • Strong client relationship management and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain strong opinions and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Proven business development abilities, including identifying and converting new business opportunities.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, across a variety of contexts.
  • A team-oriented individual with the ability to build and sustain effective teams.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring junior staff.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Qualifications Required

  • ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA; or Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training Course; or a Law qualification.
  • Degree qualified.
  • Extensive experience as a corporate tax practitioner.
  • Proficient in tax accounting and tax audit.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply existing and new tax legislation.

Desirable Skills

  • Project management expertise, including the ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, and manage budgets.
