About the Role

Opportunity in a Fast-growing Top-tier Accounting firm.

This firm is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to play a key role in the effective delivery of audit engagements. The successful candidates will take ownership of day-to-day audit activities, ensure timely identification and communication of key issues to the Audit Manager, provide guidance and training to junior team members, and ensure files are completed to a high standard, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and complete audit planning documentation in line with internal procedures.

  • Coordinate scheduling of audit engagements in collaboration with the Audit Manager.

  • Plan, allocate, and oversee work assigned to junior team members, ensuring complex tasks are prioritised and support is provided as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.

  • Identify and escalate incomplete client deliverables and ensure issues are brought to the Audit Manager’s attention.

  • Ensure audits are completed within agreed timelines and to a high professional standard.

  • Provide on-the-job coaching, formal feedback, and post-engagement debriefings to junior team members.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with client personnel while on-site, acting as a professional and reliable point of contact.

  • Track and report variances between budgeted and actual hours, highlighting scope changes or overruns to the Audit Manager promptly.

  • Maintain open communication with client contacts regarding progress and emerging issues, while upholding strict confidentiality.

  • Review draft tax computations and provisions, liaising with tax specialists for finalisation as necessary.

  • Prepare draft financial statements to a high standard, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality control procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of your work and ongoing professional development.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport effectively.

  • Previous experience in a similar role within audit or professional services is highly desirable.

  • Well-organised, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.

  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to your work.
