Opportunity in a Big 4 firm.

This firm seeks a VAT Senior to join them.   This area of their business has experienced substantial recent growth and investment. As the landscape of taxation evolves with new laws, regulations, and technological advancements, this role offers a unique opportunity to be part of that evolution and advance your career.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be engaged in large-scale finance and tax transformation projects, assisting our clients in utilizing ERP systems or third-party tools to enhance their tax functions. This includes supporting and automating the internal and external operations of multinational tax departments. Your contributions will be instrumental in the continued expansion of our Indirect Tax Technology practice.

Skills and Attributes for Success:

  • Ability to comprehend key Indirect Tax requirements and translate them into the selected technology solutions.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional tax and consulting teams to deliver high-quality work aligned with key business metrics.
  • Establish and maintain strong tax relationships with clients, delivering exceptional client service.
  • Build and nurture relationships both within the firm and externally, identifying new opportunities and expanding your professional network.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a business-related field (e.g., Economics, Engineering, IT, Accounting, Tax).
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Background in Indirect Tax: compliance, advisory, e-invoicing, and/or e-reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft D365) and Indirect Tax implementations.
  • Strong interest in the application of technology in business processes.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • A motivated and collaborative team player.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with a focus on client-serving business skills.
  • A broad understanding of tax accounting and key tax processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification.
  • Experience implementing third-party indirect tax systems (such as ONESOURCE, Vertex, Avalara, Meridian).
  • Experience in defining data and reporting needs for a tax department.
  • Experience in large, multidisciplinary projects impacting tax (e.g., ERP implementations, tax co-sourcing engagements, finance transformations).
  • Proactive, efficient time management, and ability to handle complexity and competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills.
  • Motivated and collaborative team player.
