This firm seeks an experienced Value Added Tax (VAT) professional to join their London office. The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio, delivering advisory services and overseeing compliance for both domestic and international clients.

Key responsibilities include spearheading VAT work development across the London office, with a focus on business advisory and not-for-profit sectors. The role involves collaborating with senior VAT team members to keep the firm abreast of technical developments and client engagement opportunities. The position requires active participation in National Practice Groups and wider business development initiatives.

The successful candidate will lead complex VAT advisory projects, review work prepared by the London and national teams, and oversee the London VAT team's return compliance process. There is potential for implementing technological improvements in this area.

People management is a crucial aspect of this role. The successful candidate will serve as a line manager for the London VAT Manager group, provide pastoral care for the wider London VAT team, and support the development of VAT team members nationally. This includes coordinating technical and non-technical training.

The ideal candidate possesses ACA/CTA qualifications and Senior Management or Director level experience. Strong UK VAT technical skills and familiarity with international VAT issues are essential. The role demands excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills. The ability to deliver high-quality work, build strong client relationships, and collaborate effectively across teams is crucial.
