About the Role
Opportunity in a Big 4 firm.
This firm specialises in providing comprehensive support to large corporate clients in developing and implementing tax risk management frameworks. The role demands professionals who can offer a holistic approach to managing all types of taxes, assisting clients in creating robust tax control structures.
The team is also dedicated to guiding businesses through effective management of tax inquiries, from initial engagement to resolution, including the application of Alternative Dispute Resolution and litigation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate strategic approaches to stakeholders.
- Design and implement internal policies for managing tax functions.
- Develop and execute control testing programs, including those aligned with SOX requirements.
- Support compliance with HMRC mandates, including corporate criminal offense management, SAO certification, tax strategy publication, and the Business Risk Review process.
- Enhance the use of technology and data to automate and refine risk management processes.
- Establish and maintain client relationships, proactively securing new business opportunities.
- Oversee the delivery of technically complex consulting projects, ensuring both technical excellence and practical, business-oriented solutions.
- Assume overall responsibility for the quality of client services.
- Manage leads and develop networks internally and externally to benefit the team.
- Mentor and develop staff, contributing to talent retention and training initiatives.
- Play a significant role in team management, including strategy, operations, and staff development.
Candidate Requirements:
- Extensive experience in tax from a prominent accountancy or law firm, or HMRC.
- Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs.
- Negotiation skills and the capacity to handle challenges effectively.
- Proven business development skills, with the ability to identify and convert opportunities.
- Excellent time management, communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Leadership experience with a track record of developing and managing teams.
- Professional qualifications: ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA; or equivalent qualifications in law or tax.
- Project management expertise, including planning, prioritization, and budget monitoring.
- A dynamic, outgoing personality with a flexible approach to change.
