Opportunity in a Leading International firm.

This firm is searching for a Senior Manager to wok in their Tax Controversy Risk Managerment team.  They will take ownership of a varied portfolio of client work, provide high-quality technical advice, and play a key role in the continued growth of the team.

The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of clients, helping them navigate complex UK tax requirements, strengthen their tax governance and controls, and manage their compliance and wider tax risk.

Key responsibilities:

As a Senior Manager in the Task Controversy Risk Management team, you will:

  • Take ownership of interesting and challenging client assignments, acting as a key point of contact and managing projects through to successful completion.
  • Apply your practical experience across different areas of tax, working with a varied client base and range of projects.
  • Advise clients on complex UK tax requirements, including the development of effective controls, processes and governance frameworks.
  • Help clients respond to compliance requirements and identify, assess and manage tax risks.
  • Design and deliver client workshops and training sessions covering tax risk management and related topics.
  • Contribute to proposals and pitches, using your technical knowledge and specialist expertise to demonstrate value to prospective clients.
  • Support senior leadership with business planning and contribute to identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships, developing a network that generates opportunities for the team and wider organisation.
  • Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions across different service lines to increase awareness of the Task Risk Management offering.
  • Lead, manage and develop junior team members, providing coaching, constructive feedback and opportunities for progression.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professional integrity and work in line with the organisation's values.

Qualifications:

This client is looking for someone who can combine strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to client service.

The role would suit an ambitious professional who enjoys working in a changing environment, can manage competing priorities effectively and is comfortable taking ownership of complex client matters.

The client has a flexible approach to experience and qualifications and will consider candidates based on their overall skills, experience and motivations. Ideally, you will bring:

  • ATT, CTA or an equivalent qualification, or a comparible level of experience, typically gained over six or more years.
  • Experience managing a varied portfolio of clients and delivering multiple projects.
  • Previous experience within a tax or tax risk management environment, either in professional practice or industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation, tax governance and the wider tax risk landscape. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, practical advice for non-tax specialists.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • The ability to identify potential areas of risk, undertake effective reviews and recognise when matters require escalation.
  • Experience leading project teams, delegating responsibilities, reviewing work and providing constructive feedback and development support to junior colleagues.
