About the Role

Opportunity in a Leading Tier A Practice.

This firm is searching for a Senior Manager, Funds Tax to join its growing tax practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a broad range of tax compliance and advisory services for asset managers and the funds they manage, supporting clients throughout the full investment lifecycle.

The Role

You will provide technically focused tax advice across areas including fund structuring, carried interest arrangements, investment and divestment structuring, ongoing tax compliance and investor reporting.

A key part of the role will involve working closely with the partner group to help grow and develop the practice, while building strong relationships across both the existing and target client base. Working in practice means that no two days are the same, so an adaptable and proactive approach to working across different projects, clients and teams is essential.

The firm is committed to flexible working and is open to discussing reduced hours and job-share arrangements to help employees maintain a positive work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, Funds Tax, you will:

  • Take ownership of delivering highly technical tax advice to asset managers and the funds they manage throughout the investment lifecycle, including transaction and tax structuring support.
  • Deliver partnership and corporate tax compliance services to asset management businesses, ensuring all tax reporting obligations and deadlines are effectively managed.
  • Support investor reporting requirements, enabling clients to communicate taxable results effectively to their investors.
  • Develop and manage a diverse portfolio of clients, maintaining a consistently high standard of client service.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider tax practice, financial services teams and international network to identify opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
  • Contribute actively to business development, including managing existing relationships and supporting pitches and proposals for new work.
  • Coach, train and develop junior members of the team, including delivering tailored technical training where appropriate.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of, and adherence to, the firm's risk management, quality and compliance proceedures.

Quallifications

To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA OR equivalent, alongside experience of managing a portfolio of clients.

Ideally, you will also bring:

  • Strong technical tax knowledge and a genuine interest in the financial services sector.
  • Experience working with one or more asset classes, such as private equity, venture capital or private credit, would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A combination of corporate and partnership tax compliance experience.
  • A proven track record of leading projects with accountability for high-quality and timely delivery.
  • A self-motivated approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience using relevant tax and business software and systems, with familiarity with tools such as tax compliance software, personal tax platforms, Power BI and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience coaching and developing junior colleagues.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to take on a senior role within a growing funds and asset management tax practice, with significant scope to develop client relationships, lead projects and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
