This firm seeks a tax professional to join its highly successful tax team in Manchester.

As a Senior Manager in the Manchester Corporate Tax team, your role will encompass the following responsibilities:

You will manage a portfolio of clients, cultivating long-term professional relationships while overseeing their corporate tax compliance and advisory needs. In this capacity, you will also provide leadership within the tax compliance team, offering guidance, coaching, and training to junior staff, ensuring their professional growth.

Your responsibilities include reviewing and approving corporate tax computations and tax accounting, as well as conducting tax assurance reviews. You will also be involved in ad-hoc advisory work derived from your client portfolio. The role requires effective management of client timetables, fees, and work-in-progress (WIP), ensuring efficient service delivery.

Proactively identifying and discussing relevant tax opportunities with clients is also key, collaborating with tax partners and the broader tax team to deliver tailored solutions. You will ensure the implementation and adherence to national procedures within the Manchester office, while actively participating in the national Tax Team.

The position is primarily focused on tax compliance, constituting at least 50% of the role, with the potential for advisory work comprising up to 50%, depending on the candidate’s suitability.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Extensive experience in managing tax compliance and reporting for a diverse client portfolio.
  • Comprehensive technical tax expertise and demonstrated leadership within teams.
  • Proven ability in client financial management, including fee negotiation and budget delivery.
  • Leadership skills, both locally and nationally, with a focus on coaching and mentoring junior staff.
