About the Role
Opportunity in a Leading firm.
This firm seeks a qualified professional to join our Business Tax Team. The role involves the preparation and review of UK corporation tax computations and overseeing related reporting and payment schedules. Collaboration with the audit and accounts teams is essential to provide guidance on tax accounting entries and disclosures. Responsibilities also include training and mentoring junior staff, presenting corporation tax compliance proposals, and preparing quotes for prospective clients.
Key duties include managing financial performance according to KPIs, handling correspondence with clients and HMRC, identifying tax planning opportunities, mitigating risks, and promoting cross-service sales to ensure clients receive proactive and effective service. Additional tasks include assisting with ad hoc projects and ensuring adherence to the firm's technical, ethical, risk, and compliance procedures.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in corporate tax technicalities and practical applications
- Understanding of tax issues affecting Owner-Managed Businesses (OMBs) and their shareholders
- Preferable, but not essential, knowledge of other business taxes and tax reporting processes
- Familiarity with UK accounting standards and competency in interpreting financial information
- Strong IT skills, including MS Office and databases; experience with Alphatax is advantageous but not required
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
