About the Role
Opportunity in a National Practice.
This firm seeks a professional to prepare and potentially review UK corporation tax computations. The role involves monitoring reporting and payment deadlines, collaborating closely with the audit and accounts teams to advise on tax accounting entries and disclosures. The individual will be responsible for training and mentoring junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team. Additionally, the position includes providing corporation tax compliance proposals and quotes to prospective clients.
Depending on experience, the candidate may coordinate and review other business tax-related returns, such as ATED, ERS, EMI, P11Ds, etc. Monitoring and managing financial performance in alignment with key performance indicators is a critical aspect of the role. The candidate will also handle related correspondence with clients and HMRC, identify opportunities for tax planning and risk mitigation, and cross-sell between service lines to ensure clients receive proactive and effective service. The role includes assisting with any other ad hoc projects and duties as reasonably required and ensuring adherence to the firm's technical, ethical, risk, and compliance procedures.
Required Skills & Experience:
- In-depth technical and practical knowledge of corporate tax
- Strong understanding of tax issues affecting OMBs and their shareholders
- Preferably familiar with other business taxes and tax reporting processes
- Knowledge of UK accounting standards and the ability to interpret accounts and other financial information
- Proficient in IT, including MS Office and databases (experience with Alphatax is advantageous but not essential)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
