This firm seeks a dynamic and dedicated solicitor with 5-6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in private client matters to join its accomplished team. The ideal candidate should exhibit strong expertise and enthusiasm for private client work, particularly in advising high-net-worth individuals on complex legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:

The appointed solicitor will handle diverse private client cases, with a primary focus on:

  • Providing expert guidance on complex estate planning, including drafting wills and documents for lifetime gifting, for clients with diverse asset portfolios (both UK-based and international).
  • Managing the administration of high-value, multifaceted estates, including advice on inheritance tax relief and handling cross-border matters.
  • Preparing lasting powers of attorney, advance decisions, and offering counsel on capacity issues.
  • Advising on UK trust structures, as well as drafting documents for the establishment and restructuring of trusts.
  • Addressing taxation issues concerning trusts, primarily within onshore jurisdictions.

Skills and Experience Required:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Significant experience with private clients, particularly high-net-worth individuals with complex property and business interests.
  • A proven track record of advising estate executors or administrators and managing multi-faceted probate projects.
  • Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and their advisers.
  • Experience in developing new business, including participating in networking events.
  • Familiarity with cross-departmental collaboration, especially involving property, corporate, and litigation teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills, the capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and adherence to strict deadlines.
  • Strong technical knowledge and proficiency with IT tools.

Person Specification:

  • Ability to manage demanding workloads calmly and confidently, in line with experience.
  • Team-oriented, with a genuine enthusiasm for collaboration, client interaction, and taking responsibility for a varied caseload.
  • Eagerness to engage in marketing and business development efforts across the firm.
  • Desire to integrate into a well-established team known for delivering exceptional client service, while promoting a positive and supportive work culture.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2.1 degree.
