Manager, Financial Services Tax

Opportunity in a Top 10 firm.

This firm is searching for a Tax Manager to join its specialist tax team, working with large corporate institutions and complex global businesses across the financial services sector.

The Role

As a Tax Manager, you will:

• Take ownership of providing high-quality, technically complex tax advice to large corporate institutions and global businesses across a broad range of restructuring and tax matters.
• Advise clients on the tax implications of corporate restructurings, transactions and changes to their business operations.
• Deliver corporate and partnership tax compliance services, ensuring clients meet all relevant tax reporting obligations and statutory deadlines.
• Assist with investor reporting, enabling clients to effectively communicate taxable results and relevant tax information to their investors.
• Develop and manage your own diverse portfolio of clients, maintaining strong relationships and delivering a consistently high level of client service.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider tax practice, financial services teams and international network to identify opportunities with both existing and prospective clients.
• Actively contribute to business development initiatives, including developing existing relationships, identifying opportunities and supporting pitches for new work.
• Lead and manage client projects, taking responsibility for high-quality and timely delivery.
• Coach, mentor and develop more junior members of the team, including contributing to and delivering bespoke technical training.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the firm's risk management, compliance and quality procedures, ensuring these are adhered to consistently.

Qualifications

To join as a Tax Manager, you will ideally hold a professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent, alongside proven experience managing a portfolio of corporate clients.

It would be advantageous if you also have some of the following:

• Strong technical tax knowledge and a genuine interest in the financial services sector.
• Experience working with one or more relevant asset classes, such as private equity, venture capital or private credit, although this is not essential.
• A strong mix of corporate and partnership tax compliance experience.
• Experience advising on or managing restructuring, transactions or other complex corporate tax matters.
• A proven track record of leading projects, with a focus on accountability, quality and timely delivery.
• Strong commercial awareness and an ability to identify opportunities and build trusted client relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• A self-motivated approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• Experience coaching, mentoring and developing junior members of a team.
• Familiarity with relevant tax and business software, such as Alpha Tax, CCH, Power BI and Microsoft Office, would be beneficial.
