About the Role

Oppportunity in a National firm.

This firm is looking for an experienced and dynamic Director to oversee a private client tax portfolio, focusing on both compliance and advisory services. This role includes managing project workflows, driving revenue growth, ensuring profitability, and fostering long-term client relationships. The successful candidate will play a key role in team development and actively participate in strategic planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of private clients, specialising in personal tax, and delivering a range of tax services.
  • Identify tax-sensitive expenditures and broader tax matters, providing expert advice to clients.
  • Coordinate with clients to address queries and ensure timely submission of required information.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure adherence to deadlines, particularly for HMRC compliance.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the Private Client Tax team by actively engaging with team members, conducting performance appraisals, and coaching staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Oversee and monitor own productivity, utilisation, and work-in-progress to achieve operational goals.
  • Offer guidance and constructive feedback to team members, fostering a supportive and efficient work environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Professional qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) is essential.
  • Extensive experience in personal/private client tax or mixed tax, gained within a practice setting.
  • Strong technical expertise, with the capability to research complex tax legislation.
  • Proficiency in trust and inheritance tax matters.
  • Experience across multiple sectors is advantageous, reflecting the diverse client base of this firm.
