About the Role
Opportunity in an Independent Law firm.
This firm seeks a dynamic and dedicated solicitor with 5-6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in private client matters to join its accomplished team. The ideal candidate should exhibit strong expertise and enthusiasm for private client work, particularly in advising high-net-worth individuals on complex legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
The appointed solicitor will handle diverse private client cases, with a primary focus on:
- Providing expert guidance on complex estate planning, including drafting wills and documents for lifetime gifting, for clients with diverse asset portfolios (both UK-based and international).
- Managing the administration of high-value, multifaceted estates, including advice on inheritance tax relief and handling cross-border matters.
- Preparing lasting powers of attorney, advance decisions, and offering counsel on capacity issues.
- Advising on UK trust structures, as well as drafting documents for the establishment and restructuring of trusts.
- Addressing taxation issues concerning trusts, primarily within onshore jurisdictions.
Skills and Experience Required:
The successful candidate will possess:
- Significant experience with private clients, particularly high-net-worth individuals with complex property and business interests.
- A proven track record of advising estate executors or administrators and managing multi-faceted probate projects.
- Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and their advisers.
- Experience in developing new business, including participating in networking events.
- Familiarity with cross-departmental collaboration, especially involving property, corporate, and litigation teams.
- Excellent organisational skills, the capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and adherence to strict deadlines.
- Strong technical knowledge and proficiency with IT tools.

- Ability to manage demanding workloads calmly and confidently, in line with experience.
- Team-oriented, with a genuine enthusiasm for collaboration, client interaction, and taking responsibility for a varied caseload.
- Eagerness to engage in marketing and business development efforts across the firm.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2.1 degree.
- Completion of a training contract at a mid-sized or city firm, with experience at a leading private client practice preferred.
