About the Role

Opportunity in a Tier A firm.

This firm seeks a Tax Consultant to join its Private Client Services team.  This role encompasses comprehensive UK tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse client base including high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, and private equity entities.

Primary Functions: The position holder will manage a balanced portfolio of advisory and compliance work, with increasing emphasis on advisory services over time. The role involves collaboration with Partners and Directors while contributing to team management and participating in specialised assignments as required. The successful candidate will participate in business development initiatives and proposal preparation in conjunction with the senior management team.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

Serve as a principal point of contact alongside Partners for assigned clients
Demonstrate proactive client relationship management and responsive service delivery
Assume full project management responsibility for allocated portfolio
Maintain comprehensive technical knowledge to deliver practical, precise solutions
Oversee commercial aspects including billing and collection processes
Supervise and review work produced by junior team members
Interface with relevant tax authorities
Monitor project budgets and resource allocation
Maintain adherence to quality control protocols
Identify and escalate risk factors and business opportunities to senior management

Operational Management:

Provide comprehensive support to Partners and Directors
Contribute to departmental management initiatives
Participate in team coordination and communication
Deliver training and mentorship to junior colleagues
Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development
Assist in recruitment activities as required

Business Development:

Identify and develop new business opportunities
Contribute to proposal development and pitch processes
Cultivate relationships with professional intermediaries

Professional Engagement:

Establish and maintain senior-level client relationships
Facilitate inter-departmental collaboration
Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and training programs
Exercise independent judgment within established parameters
Engage in technical consultations with colleagues and senior management

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and/or CTA and/or ACA qualification or equivalent
Substantial post-qualification experience
Advanced technical expertise in private client taxation
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop junior professionals
Proven capability in process improvement and change management
Strong decision-making capabilities with accountability for outcomes
