Opportunity in a Boutique firm.

This firm is seeking a skilled and qualified Manager for its Tax Department to collaborate closely with the tax partners in delivering intricate tax strategies to a diverse client base, including private individuals, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and public sector entities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality tax services and solutions are delivered, working directly with clients and providing critical support to the wider tax and audit teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in regular client interactions, attending meetings alongside senior colleagues or independently.
  • Liaise with HMRC for tax strategy clearances and assist clients with inquiries and investigations.
  • Review complex corporation tax computations, providing guidance to the audit and accounts teams.
  • Oversee complex personal, partnership, and trust tax computations, offering feedback to the tax team.
  • Assess legal documentation relating to corporate restructurings, acquisitions, and mergers, and provide relevant comments.
  • Lead and complete tax due diligence projects.

Requirements:

  • Deliver comprehensive reports and solutions to tax partners and clients within agreed timelines.
  • Support tax partners by analysing legislation and case law to address client tax challenges.
  • Manage a portfolio of compliance work.
  • Hold a professional qualification such as CTA or ACA with relevant experience.
  • Proven ability in establishing, nurturing, and expanding client relationships.
  • Expertise in leading client meetings and discussions.
  • Extensive knowledge of Corporation Tax, Income Tax, Inheritance Tax, and Capital Gains Tax.
  • Experience in delivering tax planning solutions.
  • Mentorship and performance monitoring of junior staff.
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying tax legislation and case law.
  • Strong IT skills
