This firm seeks a Trusts Manager. The role will include overseeing a portfolio of trusts, assisting with estate administration, and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations. Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities associated with this role include:

  • Managing a portfolio of trusts on behalf of the firm's trustee clients.
  • Overseeing the timely completion of trust income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax filings during the tax compliance period.
  • Preparing annual trust accounts for assigned trusts using specialised accounting software.
  • Handling general trust administration tasks, including communication with trustees and professional advisors.
  • Preparing and submitting FATCA and CRS returns, where applicable.
  • Filing Trust Registration Service (TRS) and complex estate submissions.
  • Drafting trustee minutes and resolutions.
  • Conducting quarterly reviews of trust fund investments and reporting findings to trustees.
  • Promoting the trust and tax services both within the firm and to external clients.
  • Working with existing clients to identify and develop new opportunities.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

    • Experience in comprehensive trust administration, including preparation of trust and personal tax returns, as well as inheritance tax accounts.
    • Proficiency in preparing trust accounts.
    • Strong client-facing experience, with the ability to liaise effectively with HMRC and third parties such as banks, land agents, and stockbrokers.
    • Knowledge of inheritance tax (IHT) and tax planning related to trusts.
    • A minimum of two years’ experience in personal tax and trust administration.
    • Familiarity with accounting practices.
    • Relevant professional qualifications such as STEP, ATT, or ACCA are advantageous.
