The firm seeks a Tax Manager to lead and advise clients on complex transaction tax matters, navigating the intricacies of domestic and international financial services tax laws. Working across a diverse client base, including major financial institutions, private equity firms, and asset managers, this role demands strategic insight, hands-on expertise, and a consultative approach. As part of the senior tax team, the Transaction Tax Manager will help shape tax policy, compliance, and planning strategies, ensuring clients navigate tax structures effectively to optimise business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advisory and Strategy: Provide expert guidance on transaction tax issues, including M&A, restructuring, financing, and cross-border investments.
  • Client Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering bespoke transaction tax solutions that align with clients’ business goals.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Lead transaction tax compliance processes, identifying and mitigating risks associated with domestic and international financial services.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams, including corporate tax, transfer pricing, and audit, to provide comprehensive tax strategies that address all client needs.
  • Regulatory Insight: Stay informed of changing tax legislation, both locally and globally, assessing and communicating potential impacts to clients.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transaction tax, ideally within financial services. 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field. CPA, CTA, or equivalent tax qualification highly desirable.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of transaction tax laws, especially related to financial services and cross-border regulations.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills with a client-centered focus. Proficiency in tax software and financial reporting tools.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team, with proven experience in developing junior talent.
