This Firm is currently seeking an Expatriate Tax Manager to become part of its team. This position involves close collaboration with other professionals within the team, with a focus on delivering superior service to their clients while applying your extensive tax technical expertise. You will manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing both inbound expatriates to the UK and outbound UK expatriates.

Joining this team presents an excellent opportunity to foster client relationships and contribute to managing and delivering services across a wide array of issues that extend beyond tax compliance and advisory functions. This client team operates within a multidisciplinary framework encompassing various aspects of international mobility. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with experts in personal tax, employment tax, immigration, rewards, and assignment services. Your responsibilities will include advising clients on their international assignment programs, short-term business travel, and cross-border remote work arrangements.

About You

  • An experienced expatriate tax practitioner with strong technical skills.
  • Effective communicator, both in writing and verbally, across various situations.
  • Possess strategic and commercial insight into broader business issues.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and flexibility in your approach to work.
  • Capable of integrating quickly into new teams and working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in project management, including planning, prioritising work, meeting deadlines, and monitoring budgets.
  • Hold qualifications such as ATT, ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA, or a Law qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experienced in Mobility or Mobility compliance, with expertise in tax compliance and advisory projects.
  • Skilled in identifying areas of risk and knowing when to escalate issues.
  • Client-focused and commercially aware, with strong relationship management skills.
  • Creative and pragmatic problem-solver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing both inbound expatriates to the UK and outbound UK expatriates.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring consistently high levels of service.
  • Lead the successful delivery of mobility tax projects, maintaining technical excellence.
  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of both compliance and advisory client services.
  • Foster relationships within the firm and across service lines, identifying mobility opportunities.
  • Proactively seek new tax projects from existing clients and drive new business from target organisations.
  • Contribute to maximising value for both the firm and clients while managing risk appropriately.
  • Act as a trusted member of the management team, mentoring junior staff and making key decisions.
  • Influence the future direction of the practice as it expands its services, adapting to technological advancements and regulatory changes.
