About the Role

Opportunity in a Leading firm.

This firm is seeking an Employment Tax Manager for the Thames Valley office, working within the tax team. This is a permanent, full-time role offering flexible working arrangements and opportunities for career progression.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with both local tax partners and the national tax team, providing a wide range of employment tax services. Clients include a diverse array of organisations, from owner-managed businesses and publicly listed companies to local and national charitable entities. The role involves both compliance and advisory work, alongside supporting business development efforts to generate new opportunities.

Candidates should hold an ACA/CTA qualification (or equivalent) and possess substantial practical tax experience. The role requires a proactive approach, working effectively as part of a team, and liaising with other specialists across tax, audit, and corporate finance.

Key responsibilities include identifying opportunities for providing additional services to clients, ensuring the firm’s best interests are upheld, and addressing various client risks, such as reputational, operational, and credit risks. You will be expected to lead client projects, providing insights on improving business processes and delivering work efficiently.

Additionally, this role involves coaching and mentoring junior staff, providing constructive feedback, and participating in firm-wide initiatives. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical skills, a commitment to high-quality client service, and the ability to manage risk. The role also requires adaptability and a dedication to continuous professional development.

Familiarity with employment tax issues such as compliance reviews, P11D reporting, remuneration planning, and related consultancy work is essential.
