About the Role
Opportunity in a Top 20 firm.
This firm seeks a skilled professional to support the Employment Tax team across Scotland, working closely with the regional partner to provide comprehensive advisory services to clients. The role involves delivering technical consultancy, preparing detailed advice and reports, and performing calculation work. It requires close collaboration with clients, prospective clients, colleagues, and intermediaries.
The successful candidate will advise on various aspects of employment tax, including salary sacrifice schemes, employee status, IR35 and CIS regulations, benefits and expenses, payroll advisory, and staff compensation. The role also includes guiding regional teams on annual employer benefits reporting, such as P11D, PSA, and ERS.
As the position progresses, there will be opportunities to develop the employment tax team in Scotland further and potentially lead the delivery of employment tax services across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the local Employment Tax team and assist the national team.
- Act as a leading expert in Employment Tax, offering proactive, high-quality tax advice.
- Drive and oversee the delivery of Employment Tax advisory projects, contributing to the achievement of business objectives for the broader employment tax and regional teams.
Requirements:
- Proven expertise in Employment Taxes, PAYE, and NIC.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Client-facing experience is essential.
- Demonstrated ability in managing and delivering tax planning advisory services.
- Experience in leading a team.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a self-driven, team-oriented mindset.
- ACA or CTA qualification.
