This firm is seeking an accomplished corporate tax specialist at the Director level to join their Edinburgh office and contribute to our rapidly expanding Scotland Corporate Tax Team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the corporate tax team partner to foster market growth and team development, with clear opportunities for advancement within the organisation.

The role encompasses a diverse portfolio of work across various business sectors in both the Scottish market and the London client base. Their services include tax advisory and compliance for a wide range of entities, from listed companies and multinationals to smaller owner-managed businesses. Their clientele spans commercial enterprises in service and manufacturing industries, as well as landed estates, professional partnerships, financial services, sports and entertainment businesses, entrepreneurs, charities, and educational institutions.

While annual corporate tax compliance forms the core of the position, the role also involves tax planning across a broad spectrum of areas, including group tax planning, property planning, capital allowances, CFC and residency matters, corporate interest restriction, R&D tax credits, and s455 tax planning. Tax accounting expertise is essential, as is the ability to assist with stand-alone tax advisory projects, such as structuring acquisitions and disposals, transaction support, and due diligence.

The ideal candidate should possess CTA and/or ACA qualifications, with experience at a Senior Management or Director level. Strong technical skills and a comprehensive understanding of UK corporate tax issues are crucial. The ability to manage a team, deliver high-quality work, and market both personal and firm capabilities is essential. Innovation, vision, and creativity are highly valued traits. Experience in handling a range of tax issues relevant to our corporate client base is preferred, including the ability to address tax matters from both company and owner perspectives.
