Opportunity in a Top 50 firm.

This firm is looking for an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join their team. The tax department serves a broad spectrum of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, major corporations, and nonprofit organisations. Operating on a global scale, the team handles intricate tax compliance matters for its diverse client base, while also leading advanced advisory projects.

In this role within the Corporate Tax team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of business clients, handling sophisticated corporate tax compliance work for large UK-based and international companies and groups (50%), and engaging in various advisory projects (50%). These advisory assignments may include corporate reorganizations, business sales and acquisitions, tax due diligence, property tax, EIS, corporate interest restrictions (CIR), R&D tax credits, and other ad-hoc projects.

The team operates on a national level, allowing flexibility in the work location.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a personal portfolio of clients, overseeing work-in-progress and client costs
  • Planning engagements, supervising junior staff, reviewing their work, and providing constructive feedback
  • Conducting and overseeing tax compliance and advisory assignments, requiring minimal final review
  • Offering effective tax planning advice to clients, including collaboration with other departments across the firm
  • Maintaining awareness of current legislation, compliance standards, and potential benefits, and applying them to client situations
  • Assisting with proposals and presentations to prospective clients

Required Experience:

  • CTA qualification with a minimum of two years of post-qualification experience
  • Experience in both corporate tax compliance and advisory roles
  • Significant experience providing tax planning advice and managing a client portfolio
  • Strong communication and report writing skills
