Opportunity in an Independent Law firm.

A leading and innovative firm is seeking a dedicated Manager to join its respected Corporate Tax team. This team is made up of experienced solicitors, chartered accountants, and tax advisers who are well-regarded for their precise and insightful guidance on both UK and Scottish tax regulations.

The successful candidate will be integral to advising on the tax aspects of a range of corporate, commercial, and real estate transactions. The team's expertise covers company mergers, acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, and complex property arrangements, as well as structuring investment funds. They also provide strategic advice on establishing tax-efficient employee share schemes and optimising tax strategies during business restructuring or insolvency. A significant part of the role involves offering tailored tax consulting services, with a particular focus on property tax matters, to both legal and accounting firms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver strategic advice on corporate structuring and draft necessary transactional documents.
  • Provide guidance on SDLT/LBTT, VAT, capital allowances, and general tax planning for property deals.
  • Assist clients with tax planning, investment structuring, and the reorganisation of business entities.
  • Advise on devolved tax matters and the design of employee share schemes within corporate transactions.
  • Offer counsel on investment fund structuring and executive remuneration strategies.
  • Present tax updates via seminars, webinars, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Work closely with partners to support business development and team projects.
  • Ensure compliance with the firm’s information security standards.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Legal or ATT/CTA qualifications.
  • Strong interest in tax with a practical, business-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on changes in tax law.
