About the Role
Opportunity in a Top 10 firm.
This firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Partner to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our service offerings at this firm, contributing to the strategic direction of the local office and leading the team. You will be responsible for developing the office's market proposition, as well as your own personal marketing approach and target opportunities. Additionally, you will act as the Responsible Individual on a small portfolio of clients, and support the delivery of services to larger/complex existing clients. As the business grows, the delivery element of your role will increase, while you continue to maintain a leadership position.
Key Responsibilities:
Business/Practice Development:
Collaborate closely with the local Partner to develop and execute a go-to-market plan for the office.
Support the Partner in key recruitment decisions and initiatives, and help shape the tone and culture of the office.
Prepare proposals for new work, attend marketing events, develop personal contacts, and identify and pursue opportunities with current clients.
Develop and implement a continuous marketing program to drive further work for the firm.
Team Management:
Support a range of staff working on client engagements, ensuring they are clear about their responsibilities, properly trained, and receive appropriate feedback.
Delegate appropriate work to more junior staff, including managers, to aid their professional development.
Monitor qualified and student bookings and workloads to ensure efficient resource utilisation, and liaise with junior staff to address any issues.
Client Contact:
Ensure clients receive an efficient and proactive service, exceeding their expectations throughout the year.
Liaise with client Partners and other firm staff to keep all parties informed of relevant issues.
Identify and develop opportunities to add value to client relationships, including improving their businesses and/or expanding services provided by the firm.
Manage client billing and margins effectively.
Technical:
Contribute to audit strategy and setting budgets, with awareness of the commercial aspects of the client's businesses and the impact on our work.
Review colleagues' work in accordance with the firm's audit and assignment procedures, and provide technical advice/support as needed to support signing opinions.
Training and Development:
Ensure assessment forms are completed, and provide feedback to staff on all jobs.
Coordinate appropriate in-house and external training for yourself and key team members.
Provide on-the-job coaching and development for key team members.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA) with significant external audit experience in a professional services environment.
Experience working with entrepreneurial, OMB, SME, and AIM listed clients.
Proven track record in business development activities, including targeting, proposal preparation, presentations, and networking.
Demonstrable working knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, industry specifics, and their application.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, Partners, staff, and other professionals.
Previous experience in managing and motivating staff to ensure optimal performance.
Excellent organisational skills to balance the needs of clients, Partners, and staff.
Proficiency in monitoring costs against budget for individual clients.
