About the Role
Opportunity in an Independent Law firm.
This firm is seeking a motivated Associate to join its distinguished Corporate Tax team. Comprised of skilled solicitors, chartered accountants, and tax advisors, the team excels in providing clients with insightful and technically sound guidance on UK and Scottish tax matters.
The role primarily involves advising on the tax implications of various corporate, commercial, and property transactions. The team’s expertise encompasses company acquisitions, disposals, reconstructions, complex property dealings, and the structuring of investment funds. Additionally, the team advises on the design of tax-efficient employee share incentive plans and optimises tax aspects of restructuring and insolvency-related transactions. The team also offers specialised tax consultancy services to accountancy and legal firms, particularly in the domain of property tax.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic tax advice on corporate structuring and draft transactional tax documentation.
- Counsel on SDLT/LBTT, VAT, capital allowances, and general tax planning for property transactions.
- Support business owners with vendor tax planning, investment structuring, and business entity reorganisations.
- Advise on devolved tax matters and the development of employee share incentives, including implications for corporate transactions.
- Offer guidance on investment fund structuring and executive remuneration.
- Deliver internal and external tax updates through presentations, webinars, and client seminars.
- Collaborate with partners to advance business development initiatives and implement team strategies.
- Ensure compliance with the firm’s information security protocols.
Requirements
- 4-8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a similar role.
- Legal or ATT/CTA qualifications.
- Strong interest in tax matters, with a commercial and pragmatic approach.
- Proven communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed on tax law changes.
