Opportunity in a Tier A firm.

This firm seeks a skilled and motivated professional to join its Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions Tax team. The role demands an individual who is adept at managing tasks independently while also being confident in collaborative environments, regularly engaging with senior managers, directors, and partners to support businesses effectively.

The ideal candidate will proactively identify and highlight opportunities to enhance service delivery and offer additional services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse client base, utilising shared service team resources and technology tools.
  • Manage a client portfolio, overseeing client onboarding, engagement, billing, and identifying opportunities to enhance profitability and recovery rates, along with cash collection.
  • Focus on self-development and continuous professional education to support career progression within the practice.
  • Efficiently manage a substantial client portfolio, identifying and pursuing opportunities for developing new clients and expanding services to existing clients.
  • Keep clients informed of developments in corporate taxation that may impact their businesses.
  • Support client management activities, including work-in-progress (WIP) management and client billing.
  • Participate in special assignments on an ad hoc basis.
  • Guide and mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • Lead projects of a limited scale or complexity.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of taxation, with the expertise to address complex tax matters.
  • Understanding of tax accounting and tax audit processes.
  • Proven experience in project and team management.
  • Experience engaging with senior management at client organizations.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (CTA and/or ACA, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships with clients and colleagues, tailoring communication and approach for diverse audiences.
  • Awareness of potential risks related to the firm’s quality control procedures, with the ability to escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders.
