I have dealt with Rob from time to time for a few years before I finally left my previous position.  In that time, what most impressed me about Rob was that, unlike many recruitment consultants, he never pushed me towards a position that wouldn’t be suitable.  I always felt that he genuinely had my best interests in mind, and wasn’t afraid to offer impartial advice, even if that meant advising me to stay put.  When I accepted my current position with Rob’s help, I was also considering a position with a competitor, advised by one of Rob’s competitors.  The contrast was striking.  The other Consultant never took the time to find out what I was really looking for in my next position, and always gave me the impression that they were simply pushing me to wards their client to earn the commission.  Rob on the other hand took the time to find out what my goals were, offered impartial careers advice, and knew the market inside out.  His name will be the first I call should I consider leaving my current position in the future.
